Aletha Carole (Grove) Spencer Obituary (1933

Aletha Carole (Grove) Parker Spencer departed her earthly life December 1, 2022, at Saint Mary's Hospital in Russellville. She was born January 6, 1933, in Webb City, Oklahoma, to George L. Grove, Jr. and Lura M. (James) Grove. Carole grew up in Yellville, Arkansas, and graduated from Yellville-Summit High School in 1950. She was a housewife, substitute teacher, legal secretary, and employed by Doughboy for many years in West Helena, Arkansas. After moving to Russellville, Arkansas, she worked at Arkansas Tech University before starting a lengthy career in real estate as owner and broker of Parker Real Estate, later known as Century 21. She was a member of Eastern Star Chapter 505 and served as Worthy Matron and Worthy Grand Martha of Arkansas. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling and dancing across the United States, Canada and Mexico. In her later years, she enjoyed playing cards with her friends at Pope County Senior Activity Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Billy G. Parker; her dancing partner and husband, James Spencer; a son, Dr. Richard Parker and her brother, Bobby Grove .She is survived by a son, Mike Parker and wife, Carol of Dover, Arkansas; daughters, Kathi Stewart and husband, David of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Aletha Jo Carter and husband, Rodney of Atkins, Arkansas. 11 grandchildren, Danna Parker, Jennifer Vick, Ben Cross, Kelly Parker, Mary Edens, Jake Barrett, Brooke Barrett, Jeff Carter, Pete Carter, Jamie Cline and Ashley Hunnicutt; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the J. Herman Humphrey Dignity Cremation Center. The family is planning a memorial service at 2:00PM, on December 18, 2022, in the Activities Building at the House of Praise, 5130 North Arkansas, Russellville, AR 72802.
