Audra L. Word Obituary (1926

Audra J. Word, 81, of Russellville, formerly of Hampton, surrounded by her family, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 6, 2007. The daughter of Arthur and Ora McCann Johnston, she was born July 20, 1926 in Harrell, Arkansas. She was a 1944 graduate of Harrell High School and worked at defense plants in Jacksonville and Camden, making detonators during World War II. Following the war, Audra and Hughlin Carl Word were married on July 14, 1946 in Camden. She was a member of the West Side Church of Christ and was preceded in death by her parents and a beloved uncle, Eugene Johnston. Survivors include her husband for 61 years, Hughlin Carl Word, Russellville; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Melinda Gale Word, Russellville, Dianne Moore and husband Winston, Shreveport, LA, Carol Harrison and husband Darol, Russellville; five grandchildren, Matthew, Corey and Mallory Harrison, Russellville, Patrick Yoder, Nashville, TN, Carl Yoder, New Orleans, LA; a sister, Eugenia Dennis, Harrell; a brother, Earl Johnston and wife Christine, Harrell. Funeral will be at 10 am Thursday, November 8, 2007 at Humphrey Chapel. Bruce Grice will officiate. Visitation in Russellville will be Wednesday from 6-7:30 pm at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 10 am, Friday at Camp Ground Cemetery at Hampton, Arkansas by Benton Funeral Home. Visitation in Hampton will be from 6-7:30pm Thursday. Pallbearers will be Darol Harrison, Matthew Harrison, Corey Harrison, Patrick Yoder, Carl Yoder, Carl Word, Winston Moore and Gordon Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers will be Arkansas Hospice staff and nurses, St. Marys Home Health staff and nurses and Dr. Kevin Beavers.
