Berniece Goodall Hovezak Obituary (1922

Berniece (Goodall) Hovezak passed from this life on May 7, 2011 at Conway, Arkansas. She was born on September 3, 1922 to Sydney and Ellen Goodall at Flint, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband George Edward Hovezak; her parents , brothers, Joseph Goodall and Francis Goodall; sisters, Mary Goodall Gorton and Dorothy Goodall Gratsch. She was of the Catholic Faith and a member of the St. Johns Catholic Church, Our Ladys Rosary Makers since 1981, Catholic Women of Arkansas (Mission Work), St. Johns Altar Society and St. Marys Vintage Club, past 4-H Club Leader and a member of Home Demonstration Club of Pope County and St. Johns Catholic School Parent Teacher Organizations. She was a veteran of WWII as a Sergeant in the Womens Army Corp detachment in 1944-46 as an X-ray technician T/3. She was awarded the Meritorious Unit Award, the World War II Victory Medal, the American Theater Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal Survivors include her daughters, Frances and husband Herbert Henderson of Russellville, Kathleen and husband Tom Sankot of Humbolt, AZ, and Mari Hardcastle and Alan Meyer of Conway; sons, George and wife Catalina Hovezak, and Robert Hovezak all of Russellville; sisters, Gertrude Gilbert of Flint, MI, Alice and husband Stanley Krupa of Williamston, MI; sister-in-law, Corene Butts of Burton, MI; brothers-in-law, Louis Hovezak of Dardanelle, AR, and Henry Hovezak of Huntsville, AL; eight grandchildren, Frank and Bethany Sankot of Rio Ranch, NM, Douglas Sankot of Phoenix, AZ, Holli and Michael Hall of Colorado Springs, CO, Joseph and Joshua Hovezak of Russellville, AR, Kelli Henderson of Russellville, AR, Heather Hovezak Taber of Russellville, AR, and Corey Michael Hardcastle of Jacksonville, AR; nine great grandchildren, Justin and Elaina Hall, Nathan and Releigh Sankot, Payton Kimball, Brianna and Haley Taber, Bentley Denzinger, and Fatima Henderson. Special recognition; Mike Hardcastle, Don Rogers, Pamela Roberts, Mashelle McGuigan, Patricia Menson, Mary Lou Curtis, and all of her many heartfelt friends throughout the years. Funeral will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at St. John's Catholic Church. Father William Thomas will officiate. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville by Humphrey Funeral Service. Full military honors will be provided by Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 2238. A Rosary Service will be held on Tuesday from 6:00-6:30pm at the funeral home followed by a visitation from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. PDF Printable Version
