Beulah Bell Clayton, aged 93, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at her residence in Dover. She was born on September 19, 1930, in Pope County, to loving parents Benjamin and Bessie Mae Burris Summers. Beulah's life was a testament to her unwavering commitment to family, especially her dedication to caring for both children and the elderly. She was a deeply cherished member of the Free Will Baptist Faith, finding solace and strength in her faith.\n\nBeulah was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wylie Verlon Clayton, her parents, her infant daughter, Shirley Louise Clayton, and her dear sister, Betty Jean Summers.\n\nShe is survived by her devoted son and daughter-in-law, Stephen Clayton and Aundrea Edwards Clayton of Dover, her grandson, Tyler Clayton of Michigan, her brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Charlene Summers, her supportive brother-in-law, Junior Clayton, and her two granddaughters, Madison Sims and Delaney Sims. Beulah also leaves behind a legacy of love with her four great-grandchildren: Blakeleigh Sims, Phoebe Rucker, Aubree Stines, and Bradley Treat Fowler Hopkins. Her life was further enriched by the companionship of her special friend and caregiver, Jennifer Coffren, as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and a great-nephew, including beloved, Diane Collier, Regina Kilgore (Tony), Scotty Summers (Roxanne), Kenny Summers, and Elaine Huddleston.\n\nA heartfelt funeral service celebrating Beulah's enduring family bonds will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Humphrey Chapel. Reverend Howard Wheeler and Madison Sims will officiate the service, with special music and singing by special family friend, Boyd Osborne. Burial will follow at Phoenix Cemetery in Dover by Humphrey Funeral Service.
