Beverly Leavell

–

Russellville, Arkansas

Beverly Leavell, 82, of Russellville, passed away at her home on Sunday, August 30, 2026, surrounded by family.

The daughter of Lawrence and Sibyl (Bowers) Bowden, she was born September 29, 1943, in Dover, Arkansas. On June 30, 1967, she married James R. “Randy” Leavell in Russellville, after they met at the International Shoe Factory where they both worked, and they shared 59 years together.

Beverly graduated from Russellville High School and attended Arkansas Tech University. In addition to the Shoe Factory, she worked for over ten combined years at People’s Bank and First National Bank in Russellville before turning her time to raising three children. She was also known to support her husband’s used car business in various roles, from filing papers to detailing cars.

She learned to quilt and crochet from her mother. She particularly loved making baby quilts, and no Leavell lacked a winter hat thanks to her handiwork. An attentive caregiver, she diligently tended to her aged mother, and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were recipients of this same care.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Randy Leavell of Russellville; two sons, Lance Leavell and wife Christy, and Jonathan Leavell and wife Dara, both of Russellville; a daughter, Lori Leavell and husband Jim Yates of Conway; five grandchildren, Paige Sikes and husband Brandon, Mallory Woker and husband Addison, Lawson Leavell, Olivia Leavell, and Sibyl Yates; five great-grandchildren, Lyla, Annie, and Sam Sikes, and Henry and Murphy Woker; a brother, Jim Bowden and wife Faye; and a sister, Jerry Gentry.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Humphrey Funeral Service.

A private graveside service conducted by Pastor Greg Sykes of First Baptist Church, Russellville, where Beverly was a member, will be held Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville. Burial will follow under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
