Russellville, Arkansas
Joey Holbrook, 62, of Lamar, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
Born April 11, 1964, in Lepanto, Arkansas, Joey was the son of Billy Sr. and Linda Dean Prater Holbrook. On October 14, 1983, he married the love of his life, Danis, at Happy Valley Assembly of God. Together, Joey and Danis built a life centered around family, love, and the many memories created during their years together.
Joey was a skilled carpenter who knew the value of working with his hands and taking pride in a job well done. His talents extended beyond his work, however. He enjoyed drawing and had a creative side that reflected the same patience and attention to detail he brought to his craft.
Some of Joey’s happiest times were spent outdoors. He loved fishing and hunting, but what mattered most was often not where he was or what he was doing—it was the people who were there with him. Joey treasured time spent with his family and friends, and his greatest accomplishments were found in the roles he held closest to his heart: loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.
Family was the center of Joey’s life. His children and grandchildren brought him tremendous pride and happiness, and the arrival of a great-grandson added yet another generation for him to love. The memories he created with those closest to him—whether gathered together as a family, sharing stories and laughter, or enjoying a day outdoors—will remain an important part of his legacy.
Joey was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ricky Holbrook; his son-in-law, Matthew Enos; and his parents-in-law, Don and LaWanda Arnold.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 43 years, Danis Holbrook of Lamar; three daughters, Mendi Enos, Brandy Davis (Denormial), and Kandace Wilson (Richard), all of Russellville; twelve grandchildren, Matheu Holbrook, Lindy Enos, Alyvia Davis, Abby Wilson, Brice Freeman, Matena Enos, Reagan Seiter, Amia Enos, Tatum Seiter, Aleigha Davis, Amiri Davis, and Annorah Davis; and a great-grandson, Matthew Freeman and one on the way.
He is also survived by three brothers, Paul Holbrook, Khris Holbrook, and Ed Holbrook; his brothers- and sister-in-law, Donnie Arnold (Gail), Lee Arnold (Sandy), and Sandy Brooks (Marvin); along with extended family members and friends who will remember Joey with love.
A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
A private committal service will be held at the Chapel of Light at the J. Herman Humphrey Dignity Cremation Center, under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
Joey’s life was measured not simply by the years he lived, but by the family he loved, the friendships he shared, the work of his hands, and the memories he leaves behind. For those who knew and loved him, those memories will continue to tell his story for generations to come.
