Bobbie Jo Thompson Obituary (1936

Bobbie Jo Thompson, age 64, a resident of Dardanelle, AR, died Thursday, November 1, 2001 her home in Dardanelle, Arkansas. She was born on November 18, 1936 in Russellville, AR, to Frank and Reba (Rickman) Woods, and married J. D. on October 9, 1959 in Appleton, Arkansas. She owned several restaurants in the area including Tastee Freez and also retired from Regions Bank where she was a Bookkeeper. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bill Woods formerly of Conway, Arkansas; and Franky Woods formerly of Russellville, Arkansas. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Russellville, Arkansas. Bobbie Jo was a devoted Christian, Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, and Friend. Survivors include her husband, J.D. Thompson of Dardanelle; a daughter and son in law, Tamara J. and Jeffery D. Hamby of Van Buren; three grandsons, Geoffrey D. Hamby of Van Buren, Joshua E. Hamby of Van Buren, Joseph T. Hamby of Van Buren; a brother, Larry Woods of Ft. Smith; four sisters, Carol Hurd of Largo, Paulette White of Ft. Smith, Zeta Howell of Russellville, Loretta Davis of Pottsville. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, November 3, 2001 at the First Assembly of God in Russellville, officiated by Rev. Larry Moore and Rev. Bobby Johnson. Burial will be at the Pisgah Cemetery at Pottsville, Arkansas under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 2, 2001 from 6:00-8:00 pm.
