Bonita Mosley

–

Dover, Arkansas

Bonita Jean “Ma” Mosley, 94, of Dover, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2026, in the same home she was born in, surrounded by grandchildren and great granddaughters. Born November 8, 1931, in Dover, she was the daughter of W.A. "Doc" and Evelyn Simpson.

A lifelong resident of the Dover area, Bonita devoted much of her life to her family, her faith and the education of children. She was an elementary school teacher with Dover Public Schools, where she touched the lives of generations of students through her dedication and care. She was a member of the Arkansas Education Association and an alumna of Arkansas Tech University.

Bonita was a faithful member of Gravel Hill Church of Christ. Her faith was an important part of her life and was reflected in the way she cared for her family and others.

Above all, Bonita was a family-oriented woman who found her greatest happiness in the people she loved. Affectionately known as “Ma,” she treasured time spent with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, and she expressed her love in countless ways, whether through a home-cooked meal, something carefully sewn by hand or simply spending time together. The memories made around her table and in her home will remain a cherished part of her family’s story.

Bonita also had an adventurous spirit and she and F.L. enjoyed traveling with the Arkansas Airstream Club. Their travels took her to 48 states and provided a lifetime of wonderful experiences and stories. When she was at home, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, scrapbooking, mowing, being with her family and watching Gunsmoke.

She was preceded in death by her husband, F.L. Mosley; her parents; her son, Charley Mosley; and her daughter, Megan Standridge.

She is survived by her grandson, Charley Standridge and his wife, Rachel, of Dover; her granddaughter, RouthEvelyn Bouchard of Dover; and her great-grandchildren, Ayla, Vada and Maveric Bouchard, also of Dover. Her family will remember “Ma” for the love, strength and devotion she gave so freely throughout her long life.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Humphrey Chapel, with Mr. Scott Roderick officiating. Burial will be private at Rest Haven Memorial Park under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
