Carrie Dean (Gaydon) Carriker Obituary (1939

Carrie Dean Carriker, 82, of Russellville, died Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. A daughter of William and Ora Jewel (George) Gaydon, she was born October 13, 1939, in Birta, Arkansas. She married Bill Carriker, on January 21, 1961, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Carrie attended business college and spent most of her working career as a clerical assistant with the Credit Bureau of Greater Shreveport (Louisiana). She and Bill were members of the Victory Missionary Baptist Church of Russellville. She was an avid reader and enjoyed having fresh flowers around her all the time. Carrie was preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers, Clyde Tillery & Leon Gaydon; and her sister, Martha Jean Johnson. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bill; their son, retired U.S. Air Force Colonel Russell Glenn Carriker (Cheryl) of Bossier City, LA; two grandsons, U.S. Army Captain David Carriker (U.S. Air Force Major Aundrea Carriker) of Anchorage, Alaska; and Joshua Carriker of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; a brother-in-law, Neil Carriker (Rheta) of Chatanooga, Tennessee; a sister-in-law, Elaine Carpenter of Charlotte, North Carolina; and many other relatives. A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Birta Cemetery, 10146 County Road 329, near Ola, Arkansas, under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
