D.P. D.P. Obituary (1927 - 2012) - Russellville, Arkansas

Daniel "D.P." Newport, 84, of Dover, AR, died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. The son of Parker and Ann Newport, he was born March 4, 1927 in Laurel, Ar. He was a member of the Senior Citizens Center in Russellville. D.P. also attended Price Grove Assembly of God. He enjoyed Gardening, Dancing, and Music. D.P Cherished his time with his wife, his family and his grandchildren. He always had a love for life. He was preceded in death by his wife Alma Winfrey Newport his parents; two brothers John and Gene Newport; and a sister Bess Archer. Left to cherish his memory is one daughter Connie Newport & Tom Dixon of Dover; one son Gary Newport & wife Kathie of Hector; four grandchildren Tosha "Turkey" Sharp & husband Chris of Dover, Johnny "John Boy" Mosley & wife Katie of Dover, Chad "Chad O" Newport & Tamala of Hector, and Trey "T Moe" Mosley of Dover; two great-grandchildren Jayce Sharp and Caden Sharp; and two sisters Peggy Payne of Oklahoma City, Ok and Ruth Manuszak of Shelby Township, Mi Funeral will be at 2:00PM, Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Price Grove Assembly of God Church. Brother Geno Johnston will officiate. Burial will be at Langford Cemetery in Scottsville, AR by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Monday, at the funeral home.
