Donna Lou Lundberg

–

Dardanelle, Arkansas

Donna Lou Lundberg, 93, of Dardanelle, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Following a private committal service in the Chapel of Light, cremation arrangements have been entrusted to J. Herman Humphrey Dignity Cremation Center under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. A memorial celebration will be held at a later date in Iowa.

Donna was born on January 24, 1932, in Lehigh, Iowa, to William Lu Verne and Pauline Myrtle (Mossberg) Umsted. On June 10, 1950, she married the love of her life, Robert Dean Lundberg, in Lanyon, Iowa. They shared 29 devoted years together before his passing in 1979.

She is survived by her son, Bradley Dean Lundberg (Sally) of Dardanelle; her daughter, Cindy Haugland (Jeff) of Mt. Ayr, Iowa; two sisters, Karen Hoshaw of Des Moines, Iowa, and Paula Umsted (Leslie) of Decatur, Georgia; and her brother, Michael Umsted (Sherill) of Fort Dodge, Iowa. Donna also leaves behind four grandchildren—Tanya Lundberg, Terri Moore (Randy), Jessica Murphy (Justin), and Blake Haugland—along with nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom brought her immense joy.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Lundberg, and her parents.
Throughout her professional life, Donna dedicated herself to helping others, first as a community high school cook for many years. From there after her kids graduated, she moved into the medical field, specializing in assisting patients with insurance benefits, particularly Medicare. Her knowledge and attention to detail made her an invaluable resource, and even after retirement, colleagues often sought her guidance. She was always gracious in sharing her expertise.

Donna found comfort and happiness in her home, where she spent many peaceful hours sipping coffee and watching birds. She enjoyed knitting and expressing her creativity, but her greatest joy came from time spent with her family—especially her grandchildren. They fondly remember her wonderful cooking and baking, which became a cherished part of family gatherings and holiday traditions.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers of Hospice Home Care for their exceptional support and kindness. In honor of Donna’s memory, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Home Care, 2301 East Main, Suite #110, Russellville, AR 72801, or through their website at https://hospicehomecare.com/tribute-of-life-foundation.
