Dorthyelene (Dixon) Dowdy Obituary (1941

Dorthyelene Dowdy, 81, of Russellville, died Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at her home. Her funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Humphrey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Birge officiating. Her family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, February 14, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pisgah Cemetery in Pottsville, by Humphrey Funeral Service. The daughter of Raymond and Dorothy (Birge) Dixon, she was born April 14, 1941 in Russellville. Dorthyelene was preceded in death by her late husband, Joseph Dowdy; her parents; two daughters, Kathy Chisum & Sheila Hilburn; a grandson, Daniel Denney; two sisters and three brothers. She is survived by three daughters: Debra Parsons (Jerry) of Dardanelle; Freda Denney, and Brenda Odgers (John) both of Russellville; four grandchildren: Stacy Nason, Tesia Moore (Frank), Joseph Dale & Keith Parsons (Heather); ten great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two sisters: Judy Whorton & Edna Jackson; and one brother, Truman Dixon. Dorothyelene was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and blessed her family as a nurturing homemaker throughout her life. She enjoyed cooking, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Damascus Assembly of God.
