Edward Lambert, fondly known as Ed or Papa, was born on the 17th of March, 1931 in Burleson, Texas. He spent his vibrant life giving to his country, his family, and his passions. His soul was as big as his heart, and his memory will be cherished forever by those who knew and loved him. The legacy of his commitment to service, his love for photography, and his devotion to his beloved wife, Jewel Lambert, will ripple through the generations of his family.
Edward served his country honorably. First, in the National Guard and then in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. His sense of duty did not stop there, as he went on to dedicate 40 years of his life working at Bell Helicopter until his well-earned retirement. Edward's work ethic and dedication extended to his personal life as well. He was an avid photographer, capturing moments of beauty, joy, and love, his lens often finding the extraordinary in the ordinary. His photographs were a testament to his eye for detail and his appreciation of the world around him.
Edward is survived by his loving wife, Jewel Lambert. Their bond was a testament to the power of love and commitment, serving as an inspiration to their children J.D. Gilkerson, Patricia (Gary) Willcutt, Chris (Dennis) Gilkerson, and their grandchildren Ranson (Nature) Price, Connor Gilkerson, Kayla Gilkerson, and Meghan (James) Barker. Edward's legacy also lives on in his great-granddaughter, Dakota. He was preceded in death by his parents, W.O. Lambert and Nellie Hall-Lambert. Every life he touched was made richer for it, his love and kindness leaving an indelible imprint on all.
We invite those who knew Edward to share memories, stories, and photos on his memorial page. It is in remembering and sharing these precious moments that we keep Edward's spirit alive and celebrate the profound impact he had on our lives. The family will have private services in Rendon, Texas at a later date.
