Fannie M. Smith Obituary (1905

Fannie M. Smith, age 96, a resident of Plainview, AR, died Wednesday, February 20, 2002 at Chambers Hospital in Danville. She was born on May 23, 1905 in Marion, IL, to Richard and Clarissa Ogden Tippy. She was the widow of Clayton 'Kate' Smith and was also preceded by a son, John Edmond Smith. Her family was among the early settlers of the Plainview community. She was a member of the Plainview Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Richard Wayne Smith of Orange Beach; two daughters, Doris Evelyn Wurz of Kennewick, Elizabeth Chaney of Plainview; 14 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren. Funeral service will be 10 am Saturday, February 23, 2002 at the Plainview Baptist Church officiated by Reverend Monroe Hunt. Burial will be at the Salem Cemetery at Plainview, AR under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m. Friday at the Humphrey Funeral Home in Ola.
