Fayburn Earl Johnson Obituary (1923

Fayburn Earl Johnson, age 78, a resident of Russellville, AR , formerly of Phoenix, Arizona, died Friday, October 5, at his home. He was born on March 31, 1923 in Appleton, Arkanasas, to Homer and Elzada Overton Johnson. He married Mable Norwood on July 18, 1942 in Jerusalem, Arkansas. The family moved to Phoenix in 1952 where Mr. Johnson worked as a carpenter and building contractor for over 50 years. Fayburn was a founding member of the Black Canyon Church of Christ in Phoenix and was a member of the 5th & Greenwich Church of Christ at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by a son, Dalton Earl Johnson and 2 sisters, Edith Williams and Burmell Settoon and a brother Randall Johnson. Survivors include his wife, Mabel Norwood Johnson of Russellville; one daughter, Barbara Gayle Johnson of Russellville; one son and daughter in law, Jodean and Martha Johnson of Roseburg; five grandchildren, Calvin and Stephanie Johnson of Roseburg, Freida Beach of Decatur, Darrell and Adeline Johnson of Mesa, Toby Johnson of Roseburg, Gayle Johnson of Roseburg; five great grandchildren, Colton, Courtney, and Dallin Cook, Christiana and Christopher Johnson; five sisters, Ethyl Andrews of Glendale, Juanita Williams of Maricopa, Catherine Moffet of Glendale, Julie and Chris Cook of Mansfield, Pearl Dawson of Phoenix; two brothers, Heartsill Johnson of Phoenix, Raymond Johnson of Cottonwood. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, October 13, 2001 at the Humphrey Chapel officiated by Mr. Travis Sweet. Burial will be at the Cedar Creek Cemetery at Jerusalem under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
