Finis Lavon Leavell Obituary (1931

Finis Lavon Leavell, age 71, a resident of Dover, AR, died Sunday, September 1, 2002 at his home in Dover, AR. He was born on May 1, 1931 in Lamar, AR, to Calvin Gilbert and Vera Jewel (Delph) Leavell. He married Mary Kathern Mathews on August 30, 1952 in Lamar, Arkansas. He was a Construction Worker through the AFL-CIO Labor Union. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and a daughter, Belinda Waterman. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of AFL-CIO Labor Union and a member of the Pentecostal Church. Survivors inlcude his wife, Kathern (Mathews) Leavell of Dover; two sons, Steve (and Donna) Leavell of Dover, Jamie (and Sonya) Leavell of Dover; three daughters, Trudy (and Johnny) Drope of Russellville, Annette (and Tony) Proctor of Hagerville, Tammy (and Danny) McMinn of Dover; three brothers; five sisters; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at the Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church officiated by Rev. Jackie Pledger. Burial will be at Annies Chapel Cemetery at Hagerville, AR under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday Evening at the funeral home.
