Gary Dale Yaerger

Gary Dale Yaerger, 54, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, formerly of Russellville, died Thursday, February 17, 2005 at. The son of Dale and Alma Thompson Yaerger, he was born October 28, 1950 in Russellville. Gary was a cub scout and while in high school he went to Florida with the sea scouts. He was a 1968 graduate of Russellville High School and received his BA from ATU in 1973. Beginning in the spring of 1973 served in the United State Army for three years. He received a Bachelors Decree in Commercial Art & Photograph from the University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama in the early 80's. Gary also received a masters in Journalism from Syracuse University in 2000. He was a copy and wire editor for the Winston Salem Journal. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Yaerger.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Yaerger, Winston-Salem, NC; a son, Christian Yaerger, Winston-Salem, NC and his mother, Alma Yaerger, Russellville.
Memorial services will be at 11 am Saturday, February 26, 2005 at Kelly Heights Baptist Church. Rev. Wayne Bookout will officiate. The body was cremated.
