Pete Grant, a 30 year resident of Russellville, Arkansas, passed away at the age of 92 on September 4, 2023. He was born on September 17, 1930, in Springfield, IL, to the late Kelly Grant Sr. and Gracie Velma Grant. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Grant, as well as two younger brothers and a sister Glenda Warren of Springfield, IL. He is survived by his son, Kent Grant (Amy) of Tucson, AZ; grandson, Garrett Grant of Austin, TX; granddaughter, Kelsie Grant of Tucson, AZ; a brother, Kelly Grant Jr. (Karen) of Springfield, IL; and a sister, Dorlis Pearce of Pontiac, IL. He is also survived by his dear friend and close companion, Betty LaGrone, of Dover, AR.\n\nPete was a graduate of Purdue University, and became an accomplished design engineer with the Caterpillar Tractor Company in Peoria, IL. From there he moved on to become Vice President of Engineering for Hough Tractor Company and Clark Equipment, and also served on the Board of the Society of Automotive Engineers. In his personal time he enjoyed restoring old British cars and traveling the world with his wife Nancy. They were both very active in the community, with Pete serving on the Board of the University of the Ozarks, and enjoying his time as an active member of the Russellville Rotary Club.\n\nA celebration of life to honor Pete will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Humphrey Chapel.
