Gertrue Hill Obituary (1918

Gertrue Hill, 90, of Hector, AR, died Friday, August 7, 2009 at Russellville Nursing & Rehab Center. The daughter of Tom and Annie Culwell Duncan, she was born December 8, 1918 in Searcy County, AR. She was a member of the Hector First Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Thurman Hill; her parents; two children, James Hill, Linda Hill; four grandchildren, Greg Hill, Harold Wayne Martin, Michael Lay, Channing Barton; son-in-law, Glynn Millsaps; two brothers, Troy Duncan, Roy Duncan; three sisters, Cleo Cossey, Mamie Flowers & Mae Bowden. She is survived by two sons, Tommy Hill & wife Jo Ann, Tim Hill & wife Sadra; six daughters, Sue Lay & husband Roger, Jane Barton & husband Donald, Brenda Millsaps, Sharon Barnett & husband Dickey, Donna Riddle & husband Davis, Jeanie McAlister & husband B.J.; twenty-six grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; twenty-six great great-grandchildren; sister, Molly Shockley. Funeral service will be at 10:00AM, Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Hector First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Randy Davis, the Rev. Charlie McAlister, the Rev. Keith Underhill and the Rev. Dean Caldwell officiating. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Steve Lay, Keith (Pete) Hill, Ricky Barton, Stacy Barton, Roger Lynn Martin & Kevin Hays. Honorary pallbearers include her grandsons, Larry Lay, Larry Barton, Kenny Barton, Randy Davis, Richie Barnett, Trevor Hays, Scott Hays, Charlie McAlister & Garrett Hill. Visitation will be 5:30-7:30PM, Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Hector First Assembly of God Church, Youth Building Fund, PO Box 160 Hector, AR 72843.
