Hazzell Anderson Obituary (1927 - 2018)

Hazzell Anderson, beloved wife and a servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018. Hazzell was born May 31, 1927, in Pottsville to Norma and Raymond (Wilson) Dixon. Hazzell was a hair dresser and owned her own business for more than 30 years. She was a member of Second Baptist Church. Hazzell was an enthusiastic volunteer at church and spent many years helping in the church kitchen. In 2006, she received the Volunteer Excellence Award for her many years of outstanding service to St. Mary's Hospital helping others in need. Hazzell was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Reno Anderson; her brother, Kenneth Dixon; a sister, Betty Blagg; a half brother, Tony Dixon; and a brother-in-law, Curly Blagg. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Marcella Dixon of Russellville; two nephews: Kenneth Dixon (Nanci) of Russellville; and Ronnie Blagg (Pam) of Van Buren; three nieces: Sharon Dixon Steele (Charlie), of Fairview, TX; Margaret Blagg Murdoch (David) of Broken Arrow, Ok; and Amanda Blagg Nicholson of Russellville; three stepchildren: Linda Richter of Russellville; Larry Anderson (Renata) of Owasso, OK; and Karen Austin (David) of Atkins; two half brothers: Larry Dixon (Linda), and Truman Dixon, (Rosa); and three half sisters: Edna Jackson, Dorothyelene Dowdy and Judy Whorton, all of Russellville; and many other nieces, nephews and relatives. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00PM, Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Humphrey Chapel. Rev. Jonathan Whitlock, Rev. Rick Smith, and Rev. Al Taylor will officiate. Burial will be at Pisgah Cemetery in Pottsville, AR by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, on Thursday, at the funeral home.
