Hulin Othel Dean, aged 81, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at St. Edwards Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith, AR. He was born in the quiet town of Bass, AR, on August 28, 1942, to his parents, Guy and Alpha Lively Dean. Hulin's life was defined by his role as a devoted father to his two beloved daughters and a cherished "poppy" to his adoring grandchildren.\n\nIn addition to his family, Hulin had a deep passion for the outdoors. He found solace in the woods, spending countless hours as an avid squirrel hunter and nurturing his gardens. His love for nature extended to hunting deer and turkey, as well as fishing, activities that brought him immense joy throughout his life.\n\nHulin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carroll Dean, and his parents, Guy and Alpha Lively Dean, as well as his brother, Duane Dean. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories in the hearts of those who survive him.\n\nHulin is survived by his two daughters, Jackie Holt (Doug) of Delaware and Kimberly Stanphill (Lee) of Greenville, TX. His memory will also live on through his three cherished grandchildren, Colvy Holt, Abbie Holt, and Case Stanphill. Additionally, his sister, Shirley Snow, resides in Catoosa, OK.\n\nA Funeral Service in honor of Hulin Othel Dean will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 25, 2023, at Self Cemetery, where Garland Freeman will officiate.
