James Frank Lancaster

James Frank Lancaster, 78, of Plainview, AR, died Saturday, December 23, 2006 at St. Joseph Mercy Health Center in Hot Springs, AR. The son of John and Lola Flewellen Lancaster, he was born March 26, 1928 in Plainview, AR. He married Marie Johnson, on September 19, 1990 at Hollis, AR. He retired from the United States Navy after 23 years of service. He served during WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He also retired from Fisher Lime Cement after 17 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son James David Lancaster; first wife Ann Lancaster; and one granddaughter Tina Fatheree.

Survivors include his wife Evelyn Marie Lancaster of Hollis; two step children, Marilyn Shows of Eros, LA and Darrell Singleton, of Colorado Springs; a grandson John David Lancaster of Moss Point, Mississippi; five grandchildren, William Shows II of Smithville, TX; Chris Shows of Marion, LA, Jason Shows of Monroe, LA; DJ Singleton of Dallas, TX and Ryan Singleton of Dallas, TX; one sister Inez Dickson of Hollis; one brother O.W. Lancaster of Hollis; Sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Funeral will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 28, 2006 at Valley Home Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmy Scott and Bro. JD Hooper officiating. Burial will be at Carter Cove Cemetery at Plainview, AR under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be Wednesday 6-8PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, Hot Springs.
