James Don Reed

James Don Reed, 98, of Russellville, passed away Monday, February 14, 2022, at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home. The son of Julius and Lillian Myrtle (Keener) Reed, he was born November 19, 1923, in Russellville. He married Martha Colleen Reed, on February 28, 1948, at Russellville. He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II. He retired as a Fleet Manager with Tyson Foods.

He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. James was a member of the Second Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, yardwork, spending time with his family and working in his church. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Irene Reed; his brother, Charles Reed and a granddaughter, Angie Young.

James is survived by his wife, Martha Colleen Reed of Russellville; two daughters, Donna Johnston (Don) of Rogers; Martha Farlow (Michael) of Lynchburg, VA; five grandchildren, Brittney, Josh, Jazz (Heather), Julie (John), and Sherry (Paul); a grandson-in-law, Rick; 11 great grandchildren, Reagan, Hayden, Maci, Scarlett, Claire, Madelyn, Jude, Carly, Kyle, Elle, Emily; a bonus daughter, Shirley Twisdale and his guardian angel Carol Brock and husband Wayne.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00PM, Monday, February 21, 2022, at Humphrey Chapel. Bro. Al Taylor will officiate. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville by Humphrey Funeral Service. Full military honors will be provided by Rogers-Rye Post 2283.
