Jaulina Clara Peterson

Jaulina Clara Peterson, 88, of Russellville, died Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Russellville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Russellville. The daughter of Fred and Pauline Hogrefe, she was born December 27, 1922 in the Augsburg Community. She was a dietitian and a homemaker. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church at Augsburg, the LWML, the Disabled American Veterans Auxilary and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed spending time with her grandson, gardening, flowers, crochet and helping with the food pantry at her church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Blackard; her second husband, Eugene C. Peterson; her parents; four brothers, Fred Hogrefe, Simon Hogrefe, William Hogrefe and Julius Hogrefe; two sisters, Selma Butchner and Pauline Rye.

Survivors include her daughter, Yvonne Blackard Lavender; her grandson, Ollin Hayes; three sisters, Regina Steuber and husband Lawrence, Irene Eledge and husband Jimmy, Zuna Lemarr and husband Irvin, all of Augsburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at the Zion Lutheran Church at Augsburg. Pastor Thom Lakso will officiate. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Augsburg by Humphrey Funeral Service. Pallbearers include Tyler Rachel, David Rachel, Dennis Steuber, Gary Hogrefe, Kevin Lemarr and Keith Lemarr. Honorary pallbearers include Michael Hogrefe, Travis Hogrefe, Jeff Massangle and Alvin Drittler. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 P.M., on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
