Jay Arnold Newbern, 74, of London, Arkansas, died Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Stonebridge Assisted Living Center in Russellville, Arkansas. The son of Thomas and Mary Naomi (Nordin) Newbern, he was born June 30, 1949, in Russellville.\n\nJay was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Thomas W. Newbern. He is survived by his mother, Naomi Newbern of London; a sister, Esther White (Jerrell) of London; two daughters: Lisa Kapsa (Peter) of Chicago, Illinois, and Sunnie Hull (Randy) of Russellville; five grandchildren: Jordon Hull (Mary), Jared Hull (Sahara), Hanna Arceneau (Danny), Karman Kapsa and Sarah Kapsa; and three great grandchildren: Asher Hull, Liam Hull and Alora Hull.\n\nJay was a Train Master with the Santa Fe Railroad. He enjoyed golf and challenging his golfing buddies to friendly wagers. He was skilled at wood working and an avid Dodgers fan.\n\nFollowing a private family committal time in the Chapel of Light, cremation arrangements were provided by the J.
