Jeri A. Shay, 58, of Russellville, passed peacefully and surrounded by her family, Friday, July 21, 2017 at the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. A valiant fighter, Jeri battled against cancer for the past 13 years. She was born February 23, 1959 in Memphis, Tennessee and graduated from Crowley's Ridge Academy in Paragould. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education in 1982 at Harding University where she met her husband, Larry Shay. They were married on May 16, 1982 at the Gainesville Church of Christ in Gainesville, Florida. \n\nJeri was a homemaker, a devoted wife and loving mother. She enjoyed crafts, including wreath making, and reading biographies. \n\nShe was preceded in death by a brother, V. Thomas Massia; and a sister-in-law, Paula Shay. She is survived by her husband, Larry Shay, and his parents, Norman (Burnis) Shay, all of Russellville; daughter, Desiree Shay, New York, NY; a sister, Denise Bratcher (Bobby), Strawberry; two sisters-in-Law, Marguerite (Booth) McKinney, Columbus, GA, Cindy (Rocky) Jones, Russellville; and a brother-in-law, Doug (Connie) Shay, Conway.\n\nMemorial Service and visitation will be from 5:00PM until 7:00PM, Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Humphrey Chapel. Jim Bob Humphrey will officiate.
