Joanne Stark Obituary (1948

Joanne Geurian Stark, 75, of Waldron, Arkansas, formerly of Dardanelle and Pottsville, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Dalton Place Assisted Living in Waldron surrounded by her loving family and caring staff. She was born on November 4, 1948, in Dardanelle, to Aubrey and Inez Novy Geurian. Joanne worked as a bookkeeper, but her most cherished accomplishments included being a loving mother and being affectionately known as JoJo. She was a member of the Eastern Star Pottsville Chapter 464 and also a member of Mars Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she has served as a Sunday School Teacher. Joanne had a passion for reading, gaming, shopping and spending time with family while cooking their favorites. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Douglas Stark, her parents, and a sister, Mary Lou Bocksnick, along with her grandparents, Mary and Joe Novy Jr. Joanne is survived by her two sons, Jason Stark of Waldron and Scott Stark (Kerry) of Dutchcreek; three granddaughters, Sadie Stark of Raleigh, NC, Abbi Stark, and Katy Stark, both of Dutchcreek; and a nephew, Tracy Broemel of Jigger, Louisiana. A funeral service to celebrate Joanne's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Humphrey Chapel, with Rev. Jim Findley and Rev. Randy Findley officiating. A private committal service will take place at the new Chapel of Light at the J. Herman Humphrey Dignity Cremation Center, conducted by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation hours will be from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dalton's Place, 520 West 2nd Street, Waldron, AR 72958.
