John Stewart Kroencke, 56, died Sunday, March 29, 2020, at his residence in Russellville. The son of Robert and Wanda Sue (Stewart) Kroencke, he was born May 30, 1963, in Rockingham, NC. He married Tanya Lee (Rood) Kroencke, on May 21, 1988, at Russellville. He was self-employed as a builder & contractor in residential and commercial construction. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.\n\nWhen anyone thinks of John, the first things that come to mind are his outgoing personality and boisterous greetings every time he met someone. John had a passion for relating to people in all walks of life and communicated sincere thoughtfulness in his efforts to help others in so many ways. He was interested in using his construction knowledge to build several houses for local Habitat for Humanity recipients. His family meant everything to him and he showed it with his love and time. He loved hunting and enjoyed the camaraderie of hunts and outdoor activities with friends and family. Traveling on vacations or just going to visit out-of-town family and friends, gave him great pleasure.\n\nJohn was preceded in death by his father, Robert Kroencke of Russellville. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Tanya; their daughter, Madason Priore (Patrick) of Gretna, LA; his son, Wellington Kroencke of Russellville; his mother, Susie Kroencke of Russellville; his in-laws, Freddie & June Rood of Russellville; his sister, Andrea Taylor (Dubby) of Russellville; his brother-in-law, Eddie Rood (Traci) of Russellville; two nieces, Susan Taylor Falls and Heather Rood Ramsey; and two nephews, Zeb Taylor and Preston Rood.\n\nA private graveside service will be held at Rest Haven Memorial Park under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
