June H (Herath) Leggett Obituary (1937 - 2022)

June H. Leggett, 85, of Russellville, passed away Monday, November 14, 2022, at Russellville Nursing & Rehab with her daughter holding her hand. A daughter of Donald F. and Jean L. (McAllister) Herath, she was born June 6, 1937, in Joliet, IL. June grew up and attended school in Plainfield, IL. She was a retired Registered Nurse beginning in Chicago, IL moving to Miami, FL, and ultimately various hospitals within Arkansas. June will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed working in her yard, reading, supporting animal organizations and shopping with her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin B. Leggett Jr. her parents; two sisters, Bonnie M. Niehus, Holly Gard, and her brother, Frank E. Herath. Survivors include her daughter, Ruth Gately (Herbert), Germany, her granddaughter, Victoria K. Gately, Fayetteville, and her friend, Chuck Gordon. A private committal service will be held at the new Chapel of Light at the J. Herman Humphrey Dignity Cremation Center by Humphrey Funeral Service.
