Lawanda Gene (Morphis) Storment Obituary (1943 - 2022)

Lawanda Gene Storment, 78, of Russellville, died Saturday, December 3, 2022, at her home. The daughter of Lloyd and Anna Mae (Hensley) Morphis, she was born December 11, 1943, in San Diego, California. She married Porter Jefferson Storment, Sr., on July 22, 2004, in Harrison. Lawanda was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lloyd Grant. She is survived by her husband, Porter Storment, Sr.; four step-sons: Porter Storment, Jr. of Russellville; Solomon Storment of Sonora, California; Samuel Storment of Kansas City, Kansas; and Christian Storment of Dallas, Texas; three step-daughters, Carolina Storment of Modesto, California; Elizabeth Storment of Russellville; and Bobbie Laine Storment of Hunstville, Alabama; a granddaughter, Amber Kathleen Storment; two sisters, Johnny Leding and Debbie Mitchell both of Port St. Lucie, Floridaa; numerous grandchildren, cousins and other relatives. Lawanda worked most of her life as an agent in the real estate business. Following her retirement, she and Porter worked together as park attendants with the Army Corp of Engineers. They both enjoyed camping and the great outdoors together for many years. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the J. Herman Humphrey Dignity Cremation Center.
