Leotta Ladean Davis Obituary (1938 - 2014)

Leotta Ladean Davis, 75, of Springdale, AR, formerly of Russellville and Gillett, died Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, AR. The daughter of Andrew and Rose Arvie Autry Kerns, she was born September 10, 1938 in Dover, AR. She was a 1956 Pottsville High School graduate, attending Arkansas Tech University, and achieving a Certificate in Accounting at the University of Arkansas-Monticello. She married Billy Carr Davis, Sr, on March 27, 1959. She was a bank teller with Planters and Merchants Bank in Gillett. Leotta was an avid and talented bridge player who belonged to several bridge clubs. She enjoyed traveling and her family and friends were very important to her. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Russellville and Gillett. She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant sons, Nathan Carr and Kevin Wayne Davis; three grandchildren, Taylor, Nathan and Emily; seven sisters, Thelma "Skipper" Bushyhead, Ruth Kendrick, Grace Walters, Lulu-Belle Morgan, Joyce Brown, Maple Francis Kerns; and two brothers, Willie and Van Kerns. To cherish her memory are her husband of 55 years, Billy Carr Davis, Sr of Springdale; two sons, Billy Carr Davis Jr. and wife Rebecca Elizabeth of Fayetteville, Nathan Scott Davis and wife Jennifer Ann of Dryden, NY; two granddaughters, Carlea Claire Davis, Maysie Ann Davis both of Dryden, NY; two sisters, Jean and husband Melvin Hull of Springfield, MO, Rosalea "Curly" and husband Wilton Lawhon of Grand Prairie, TX; many beloved nieces, nephews and Godchildren. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at First United Methodist Church in Russellville. Rev. Gail Brooks will officiate. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will follow the memorial service.
