Lonna Lynnette Apple, 53, of Dover, died Friday, December 15, 2017, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. The daughter of Lynn and Dortha Alene (Waldo) Ballard, she was born September 6, 1964, in Russellville. She married Thomas Matthew Apple, on December 22, 1990, at Dover. She worked 16 years as a Paraprofessional with the Dover School District with special needs children, all of whom loved and appreciated her compassionate care. She was a faithful member of the Scottsville Word of Life Assembly of God Church where she was a leader for more than 10 years in the church bus ministry and shared other ministry roles especially in the annual Vacation Bible School program. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, and enjoyed reading and frequenting local public libraries where she was well-known by all. She loved to shop with her family, cook and travel.\n\nShe was preceded in death by her mother, Dortha Ballard. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Thomas "Matt" Apple of Dover; a daughter, Hannah Elizabeth Roberds (Billy Ray) of Dover; a son, Thomas Matthew Apple, II of Russellville; her father, Lynn Ballard of Dover; and a sister, Tonya Dynnette Hurley (Brian) of Russellville.\n\nFuneral Service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 21, 2017, at\nScottsville Word of Life Assembly, 6275 Highway 27, between Dover and Hector. Rev. Arnold Humphrey, Rev. Jimmy Turner and Rodney Pfeiffer will officiate. Burial will be at Owens Cemetery in Dover, by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
