Martha Delores Dowd

Martha Dowd, 84, of Russellville, died Thursday, January 26, 2012 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. The daughter of Charles and Rosa Hamm, she was born March 3, 1927 in Nicholas County, KY. She married Jesse Dowd on April 1, 1952 at Sequin, TX. She was a member of the North Shore Assembly of God Church in Houston, TX. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading. She was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings, Earl Hamm, Charles Hamm, Clay Hamm, Shelman Hamm, Lorene Hughes.

Survivors include her loving husband, Jesse Dowd; one son, Butch Dowd; one grandson, Bryan Dowd; one brother, Donald Ray Hamm of OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, January 30, 2012 at Humphrey Chapel. Dr. Yan Venter, Pastor Steve Pyle and Reverend Lyndell Buck will officiate. Burial will be at Pisgah Cemetery in Pottsville, by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M., on Sunday, at the funeral home.
