Mary Ellen (Rogers) Keener Obituary (1948

Mary Ellen Keener, 70, of Russellville, died Monday, January 21, 2019, at Conway Regional Medical Center. The daughter of Charles and Sylvia (Brown) Rogers, she was born April 28, 1948, in Russellville. She was a graduate of Russellville High School and received a Bachelor's degree and later a Master's in Education from Arkansas Tech University. She and Dewey Keener were married on March 3, 1978, in Russellville. Mary Ellen taught at Crawford Elementary School for over 20 years retiring in 2014. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Russellville, and was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles Wayne Rogers and Larry Rogers; an infant son, Dewey Keener, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Dewey Keener, Russellville; two daughters, Marissa Gail Keener, Subiaco and Emily Camille (Logan) Freeman, Dover; two grandchildren, Keene and Ezekiel Freeman; brother, Mark S. Rogers, Little Rock. Funeral service will be at Rankin Cemetery on South Knoxville in Russellville at 2:00pm Thursday, January 24, 2019. Rev. Walter Smith will officiate.
