Maxie Beth Hood Hart

Maxie Beth Hood Hart, 69, was born January 8, 1943 in Altus, Arkansas and
passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Dardanelle Nursing
Center. She was the oldest of two daughters of Eldred and Alice Elizabeth
Sykes Hood and grew up in Fort Smith. She was a 1960 graduate of Fort Smith
High School. Maxie worked as a secretary at Bost Human Development Services
in Fort Smith for 20 years, retiring in 2002. She was a member of the Cavanaugh
Free Will Baptist Church in Fort Smith.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Jamie Sorrells, Russellville; Beth's father, Don Hart, Fort Smith; a sister, Becky Otwell and husband David, Houston, TX; parents, Eldred & Alice Hood, Fort Smith; three grandchildren, Vandy Moore & husband Keith, Melanie Sorrells, Jackson Sorrells, all of Russellville; nieces, Shari Kitzmiller & husband J.R., Houston, TX, Dee Blair & husband William of Houston, TX

Funeral will be 2:00PM, Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Edwards Funeral Chapel
in Fort Smith (201 North 12th Street). The service will be officiated by her son-in-law, Jamie Sorrells, her grandson, Jackson Sorrells, and her grandson-in-law, Keith Moore. Entombment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Fort Smith by Edwards Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00pm until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
