Megan "Meg" Maria Standridge, aged 70, of Dover, passed peacefully surrounded by her children on Monday, December 4, 2023, at Legacy Heights Nursing Home in Russellville. A visitation and viewing with the family have been scheduled for Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Humphrey Funeral Chapel. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the J. Herman Humphrey Dignity Cremation Center, and a family-led memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023.
Born on August 28, 1953, in Russellville, Meg was the daughter of F.L. and Bonita Jean (Simpson) Mosley. She is preceded in death by her father and her brother, Charley Mosley.
Meg is survived by her mother, Bonita Jean Mosley; her son, Charley Standridge (Rachel); her daughter, RouthEvelyn Bouchard (Kaleb); and her three beloved granddaughters: Ayla, Vada, and Maveric Bouchard, all residing in Dover.
Meg dedicated 25 years of her life to teaching as a 3rd-grade language arts teacher in the Dover School District. Her passion for art, particularly painting alongside her granddaughters, brought her immense joy. She had a deep love for flowers and frequented beautiful gardens. Meg's ultimate therapy was found in the serene beaches of Gulf Shores, with her toes buried in the sand. She was also a compassionate animal lover, finding solace in the company of her canine companions, Ruby and Eva, as well as her feline friend, Wichita.
In her leisure time, Meg pursued embroidery, savored picturesque sunsets, admired birds, indulged in westerns featuring the iconic Matt Dillon, and cherished the enduring camaraderie of her fellow classmates from the Dover Class of '71. Her faith was a pillar of strength, and she drew wisdom and solace from her faith family at the Gravel Hill Church of Christ.
