Melvyn Byrd Obituary (1946 - 2013) - Russellville, Arkansas

Melvyn Byrd, 67, of Russellville, AR, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013 at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville, AR. The son of Sam Byrd Jr. and Katherine May Dill, he was born March 27, 1946 in West Point, Ms. He was a Salesman with Big Branch Breeders. Melvyn was a board member of the Moreland Fire Department. He was a member of the Agape Community Church. He loved being with his family and friends and being an active member of his church. He was preceded in death by his father Sam Byrd Jr. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Linda Byrd of Russellville; two children Lesley Hudson & husband Charles of Atkins and Amanda Freeman & husband Glen Russellville; his mother Katherine Dill of Columbus, Ms; five grandchildren Austin Freitag, Ashley Freitag, Tyler Freitag, Brittani Barefield and Brittany Freeman all of Russellville; great-granddaughter Michelle Belmonte; brother Sammy Byrd of Brooksville, Ms; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM, Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Humphrey Chapel. Pastor Tony Sparks will officiate. Burial will be at Hudson Cemetery in Moreland, AR by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm, on Monday, at the funeral home.
