Michael Matthew McGowan

Michael Matthew McGowan, better known to his friends and family as "Magoo," left us on July 9th, 2025. Born in Russellville, AR on August 10, 1951 to Gilbert and Margaret McGowan, Michael was a charismatic and spirited individual who embodied the essence of living life to the fullest. His adventurous spirit guided him throughout his life, leading him on countless journeys.

Michael was a man who was unapologetically himself, living his life on his own terms. His infectious laughter and funny anecdotes were the highlights of gatherings and parties. Mike was a darn good football player and received a football scholarship to Arkansas Tech University where his team was runner up in the National Championships.

Michael is survived by his brother John McGowan, sister Patty Gilbert, and nieces & nephews - Lynn Avery, Logan McGowan, Hannah Montgomery, Cole McGowan, and Kate Hilton. He is preceded in death by his mother Margaret McGowan, father Gilbert "Mac" McGowan, and brother-in-law Ricky Gilbert. Each of them holds a place in their heart for Michael, cherishing the memories of his adventurous spirit and banter.
