S.D. and Ella Mae (Potter) Mitchell. She graduated from Russellville High School where she was a member of the Lady Cyclones Basketball Team and attended college at Jarvis Christian College in Texas, Hendrix College in Conway, AR and Arkansas Tech in Russellville, AR.\n\nShe started her career at Arkansas Nuclear One in Russellville in 1983, transferred to Riverbend in St. Francisville, LA in 1997, and retired in 2013. In 1997 Nancy married the love of her life Johnnie Jones, Sr., and together they were the proud parents of Ariel Williams and Johnnie, Jr.\n\nNancy professed her love for Christ at an early age and became a member of Sinai Church of God In Christ where her father Supt. S.D. Mitchell was the pastor. Nancy served as the Sunday School Chairlady of the Arkansas 2nd Jurisdiction, (Bishop Frank Anderson, Prelate). After their marriage, Nancy and Johnny moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she became a member of the Port Allen Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Supt. James Stampley, Jr. and she became a Licensed Evangelist-Missionary. Nancy was active in every ministry She was a servant to all in the church and was active in every aspect of the church. She would often exclaim, "We may be small but we do big things!" Nancy was a worker in the International Sunday School Department and was instrumental, along with Superintendent Eddie Miller, in the founding of the Church of God in Christ Disability Ministries. She travelled far and wide and passionately advocated for appropriate worship accommodations for individuals with disabilities.\n\nNancy enjoyed her crafts, traveling, entertaining and spending time with her family and friends. She had a smile that would welcome anyone who came in her presence, a warm heart that would make everyone she was around fall in 1ove with her, and she would always do anything she could for anyone.\n\nShe leaves to cherish her love and memories her devoted husband, Johnnie Jones, Sr.; her loving children Ariel Williams, Tabbatha Jones, Shakeysha Jones, and Johnnie Jones, Jr.; Brothers, Mugabe Andy Foster (Loma Foster), Ronald (Mary) Smith, James Smith, Dennis Smith, Dale (Kim) Mitchell and Sylvester (Angie) Mitchell. Sisters Donna Black, Shelia (Richard) Walker, Shelia Parker, Barbara Mitchell and Vicki Mitchell, two Aunts Mary Williams and Billie Sue Potter, a brother-in-law Patrick Jones, sisters-in-law, Allison B. Jones, Pamela Dickens, Shelia Dickens, Brenda (Marcus) Jackson, Anita (Marlon) Julie Dickens and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her beloved mother Ella Mae Mitchell, loving father, Supt S.D. Mitchell and her dear son Mitchell Harris "Mitch Man" Williams.\n\nOn Monday June 21, 2021, Nancy earned her wings and her earthly body was healed. We will miss her dearly, knowing God loved her best and wanted her radiant smile in heaven. He only plants the best in his garden, and she was an elegant rose.\n\nFuneral service will be Wednesday, June 30, 11:00 a.m., at West Side Church of Christ. Bishop Frank J. Anderson will officiate. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park under the direction of Jim Bob Humphrey and Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 29, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Humphrey Chapel.
