Nelda Christine Strecker

Nelda Christine Strecker, 70, of Dardanelle, AR, died Sunday, June 21, 2009 in Dardanelle. The daughter of Charley and Savanah Rachel Spicer Miles, she was born September 8, 1938 in Scranton, Arkansas. She married Charles William Strecker, on September 24, 1955 in Greenville, MS. She was the owner and operator of The Award Winning Savanah's Restaurant in Dardanelle which has been opened for seven years. She loved fishing, camping, and cooking, but most of all spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles Miles.
Survivors include her husband Charles William Strecker of Dardanelle; two daughters, Cynthia Christine Strecker Lundy & husband Bob, and Charla Sue Strecker ; one son, Timothy Allen Strecker & wife Myra; four grandchildren, Crissy Lundy, Rachel Freeman & husband Darren, Gordon Lee Driskill, Savanah Christine Strecker; three great grandchildren, Zackary Lundy, Ada & Isaac Freeman; siblings, Jean Trusty, George Miles, Eloise Trusty, Betty Tabor, Jimmy Miles, Gary Miles, Larry Miles
Funeral will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Dardanelle First United Methodist Church. Reverend Rob Walker will officiate. Burial will be at McKendree Cemetery in Subiaco, Arkansas by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Tuesday.
