Mrs. Neneen Marcell Horn Obituary (1928

Neneen Marcell Horn, 89, of Russellville, passed away Tuesday, July 11, at Arkansas Hospice-River Valley Home. She was born April 14, 1928 in Ola, Arkansas, to Mary Magdaliene (Petty) and Harry Dewey Infield. She was preceded in death by husbands Richard Horn and George Humphrey, the father of her four children, brothers Bill Infield and Harold Smith, and son-in-law David Keener. She is survived by her children Beverly Keener of Russellville, Barbara Childers of Wesley, John Humphrey and Rosie of Fayetteville, and George A. Humphrey, Jr. and Susie of Dover, and brother Jack Infield and wife Linda of Van Buren. Her grandchildren are Michael Keener and wife Laura of Fort Smith, Mandy Keener of Little Rock, Sean Lilly and Becky Standridge of Springdale, Jason Lilly and wife Tisha of Springdale, Jared Humphrey of Fayetteville, Nicolette Humphrey of Elkins, James Glen Clawson and Gary Todd Clawson of Dover. She also leaves behind several great-grandchildren she loved dearly and a very special friend of the family Joe Childers. "Marcie," as friends and family knew her, was well known for her coconut bread, which she always used to say thank you or to repay a kindness or service. Many may remember her from her employment at Wal-Mart for several years. She began as a checker and then graduated to become the first door greeter in the Russellville location. She loved greeting and visiting with the customers over the years. Included in her many hobbies were gardening and caring for her pets. Babe was her special companion for many years, followed by Kitty Girl, and numerous neighborhood pets who always received treats when they visited her. She enjoyed classical music as well as the rock-and-roll her children loved to listen to while living at home so much that she constantly asked daughter Beverly to download songs and create CDs for her to play. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often coming to their rescue by removing green peas from their plates without their parents' knowledge. She had bunking parties with her grandchildren, even on Christmas Eve so Santa would not scare them during the night when he arrived. Her playful personality came out during every visit from great-grandson Will, who hid a plastic snake under his shirt so that he could "scare Grandma," resulting in a roar of laughs from all involved. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Humphrey Chapel in Russellville. Chaplain Don Erwin will officiate. Burial will be at Sandlin Cemetery in Ola by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time from 1-2PM, on Saturday, at the funeral home.
