Nolon M. Passmore Obituary (1940 - 2017)

Nolon M. Passmore, 76, of Conway, formerly of Russellville, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family, Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at UAMS Hospital in Little Rock. The son of George and Arthie Jolly Passmore, he was born November 13, 1940 in Elba, Arkansas (Van Buren County). He was a 1958 graduate of Dardanelle High School and completed coursework for the military at ASU Beebe. He and Anna Bates were married on January 30, 1960 at Russellville, Arkansas. Nolon's career with the 39th Infantry Brigade of the Arkansas Army National Guard spanned 3 wars and 38 years, retiring in 2001. He was a kind and gentle soul who had the respect and love of his family and many friends. He was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying, working on cars, traveling and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Angie Passmore Howard; and a sister, Athleen Carter. He is survived by his wife, Anna Passmore, Conway; his grandson, Bryson Howard and his wife, Alicia, Lufkin, TX and their children, Leela and Ethan Howard; sisters, Amy Bonds, Clinton, Naoma (Troy) Underwood, Dardanelle, Glenda Warren, Clarksville, Erma (Kenneth) Crow, Centerville; brother, Nelson (Hilda) Passmore, Dardanelle; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Humphrey Chapel. Brother Johnathan House will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. George Cemetery in Mt. George, by Humphrey Funeral Service. Full military honors will be provided by the Rogers-Rye Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #2283. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:00am, on Saturday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Caudle Christian Camp, 2300 West C Street, Russellville, AR 72801.
