Brother O. L. Kinsey Obituary (1922

Brother O. L. Kinsey, 80, of Dover, died Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. The son of Benjamin Franklin and Linnie Robison Kinsey, he was born December 25, 1922 in Yell County. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II serving three years in Iceland and Europe. Following the war, he worked as a pipe fitter and welder with the Local Union #155. Brother Kinsey attended the Missionary Baptist Seminary in Little Rock in the early 1960's and pastored Missionary Baptist Churches throughout Arkansas. Churches he pastored included, Levy, Ward, Hatley, Tilly, Birdtown and Coal Hill. He was a member and honorary Senior Pastor at the Calvary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Odean Cantrell Kinsey and a sister, Margaret Bour. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Martin Kinsey, of Dover; three sons and daughters in law, Ron and Ann Kinsey of Dover, Buddy and Patricia Martin of Russellville, Kevin and Brenda Martin of Little Rock; three daughters and sons in law, Cheryl and Rick Perez of Dover, Cecelia and Terry Patton of Destin, Florida, Karen and Glenn Cox of North Little Rock; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; five brothers and spouses, Earl and Lucille Kinsey, Norban and Vetrice Kinsey, Vaughn and Betty Kinsey, Raymond and Barbara Kinsey, Gene and Maxie Kinsey; three sisters and spouses, Wanda and Joe Damazio, Mary Rose Burks, Patsy Ruth and Guy Smith. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2003 at the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church officiated by Brother J. H. Carter, Brother Lester Barnes and Brother W. A. Dillard. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park at Russellville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
