Raymond A. Jones

Raymond A. Jones, 74, of Russellville, died Friday, April 6, 2007 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. The son of Charles and Flora Price Jones, he was born August 27, 1932 in Durham, North Carolina. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1952 during the Korean Conflict. He married Pat Braswell, on June 13, 1954 at York, South Carolina. He was a BTCM (Master Chief) during his career of 22 years before his retirement. After retiring from the military and moving to Russellville, he owned Rest Haven Memorial Park for about 14 years. He was a past member of the Russellville Noon Rotary; Veterans of Foreign Wars Rogers-Rye Post 2283; Fleet Reserve Association in California and Plank Owner of the USS Kitty Hawk. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pat Jones of Russellville; two daughters, Jennifer Skaggs Peggy Bond & husband Kenny; four grandchildren, Jansen Choate, Abbie Skaggs, Kendall Bond, Kamrynn Bond and a sister, Jean Marquardt all of Russellville.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 9, 2007 at Humphrey Chapel. There is no visitation planned.
Military honors will be provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2283 of Russellville.
Arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
