Sammie J. McClure, Sr. went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Sam was born September 7, 1931 in Durant, Oklahoma to Kenneth Andrew and Alda Cleo Black McClure. He married Billie Estep December 31, 1949 in Durant, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Dwayne McClure; grandson, Sammie J. McClure, III; three brothers, Joe, Bill and J.L. McClure. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Billie McClure: five children, Sheila Hawkins, Sammie McClure, Jr. & wife Vicky, Tony McClure & wife Sherry, Lori Freeman & husband Virgil, Terry McClure & wife Jennifer; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; three sister-in-laws, Dean McClure, Sue McClure, Verlena Walker & husband Max; special friends, Wena & Bob Cunningham. Funeral service will be 7:00 PM, Friday, April 16, 2010 at Humphrey Chapel with Rev. Keith Shipley officiating. Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM, Friday, prior to the funeral service, at Humphrey Chapel. Graveside service and burial will be Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Highland Cemetery, Durant, Oklahoma, with Rev. Bruce McLaughlin and Rev. David Estep officiating. Pallbearers will be Bobby, Tim, Randall, Ricky McClure, Dale, Danny Lyday, Robert and George Cunningham. PDF Printable Version
