Sibyl Leon (Bowers) Bowden Obituary (1918

Sibyl Leon Bowers Bowden, 100, of Dover, died Friday, June 7, 2019 at her daughter's home in Russellville. The daughter of Hollie and Daisy Mae Kilburn Bowers, she was born September 12, 1918 in Dover. She was retired from Con Agra Frozen Foods. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, a member of the River Valley Arts and Crafts and the Russellville Farmers Market where she served as treasurer. Sibyl was a member of the Russellville First Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, spending time with family and watching cattle. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Jerrell Bowden; her parents; six sisters and a brother. Sibyl is survived by a son, Jim Bowden (Faye)of Vail, AZ; two daughters, Jerry Gentry of Atkins; Beverly Leavell (Randy)Russellville; 11 grandchildren, Steve Bowden, Chris Bowden, Hayden Jones (Monica), Kathi Hubbard, Patti Hollis (Rick), Terri Starnes (Tony), Jamie Williams (Steve), Vicki Boyd (Bryan), Lance Leavell (Christy), Lori Leavell (Jim Yates), Jonathan Leavell (Dara), 17 great grandchildren, Amy Whitlow (Troy), Kit Hubbard, Beci Martin (Lance), Jacob Hollis (Jessica), Josh Hubbard(Ashley), Lyndsay Hollis, Cory Sisk, Kolby Sisk (Molly), Shelbea Gentry, Maegan Sisk, Trayce Boyd, Peightyn Boyd, Paige Sikes (Brandon), Mallory Leavell, Lawson Leavell, Olivia Leavell, Sibyl Yates, Eight great-great grandchildren, Emma Whitlow, Will Whitlow, Drue Hollis, Marlo Hollis, Hank Hollis, Avarie Martin , Grayson Martin, Oliver Sisk. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM, Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Humphrey Chapel. Bro. Greg Sykes and Bro. Stephen Davis will officiate. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville, AR by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
