Sybil Rowlands Chambers

Sybil Rowlands Chambers, 92, of Hermitage, Tennessee, formerly of Hector, Arkansas, died Tuesday, October 12, 2004 in Hermitage, Tennessee. The daughter of Richard and Arkie (Allewine) Rowlands, she was born August 20, 1912 in Hector, Arkansas. She worked for the Arkansas State Revenue Office for more than 25 years and was a member of the Hector Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Henry Chambers and was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Stella Hurley and Bertha Price, and two brothers, Floyd 'Pete' and Clyde Rowlands.
Survivors include one son, Gene Chambers and wife Mary, Nashville; one grandson, R. Gregory Chambers and wife Amanda, Nashville; one granddaughter, Christy Ann Chambers, Nashville; one great granddaughter, Anna Elizabeth Chambers, Nashville; one brother, Bob Rowlands, Hector.
Funeral will be at 10:00 AM Friday, October 15, 2004 at Hector Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Reverend Toy Brindley and Reverend David Carpenter will officiate. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery at Hector by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
