Pastor Tom Underhill Obituary (1938

Pastor Thomas Ray Underhill, 83, of Russellville, went to be with His Lord Sunday, October 10, 2021. The son of O.H. Underhill and Minnie Naomi (Brown) Underhill, he was born August 12, 1938 in Russellville. He married Bonnie (Shaw) Underhill, on January 16, 1959 at Russellville. He was a veteran of the United States Army National Guard serving during the Little Rock Central High School desegregation of 1957. Pastor Underhill dedicated his life to "The Great Commission" preaching and teaching the Good News as his Lord commanded. At an early age he founded the Russellville Christian Center serving the members of the Church and the people of the River Valley for over 40 years. He was the president of Tom Underhill Ministries, founding member of The Wade Walters Foundation, and a member of the Young Pro Cowboy Ministry. Tom was a cowboy from an early age winning numerous saddles and roping competition. He also enjoyed fishing, spear fishing, scuba diving, hunting, and especially spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Wade Walters; sister, Linda June Miller. Survivors include his wife Bonnie Underhill; son David Underhill and wife Annette; daughter Susan Allen and husband Rusty, all of Russellville; grandchildren, Chelsy Lyles and husband P.J., Savannah Smith and husband Dillon, Cody Underhill and wife Rashelle, all of Russellville, Victoria Glasse and husband T.J. of Rogers, Brittany Marshall and husband Grant, all of Russellville; great-grandchildren, Braden Lyles, Emily Lyles, Jordan Paul Lyles, Greyson Marshall, Stella Ray Smith, and Madilyn Smith; brother J.B. Underhill and wife Betty of Russellville; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Memorial service will be held at 3:00PM, Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Russellville Christian Center. Pastor Tim Brooks and Cody Underhill will officiate. Honorary pallbearers are the Russellville Chrisitan Center Board members. Arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
