Mr. Tommy C. Watson Obituary (1947

Tommy Watson, 69, a resident of Russellville, formerly of Paragould, died Monday, November 21, 2016, at the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. He was born August 15, 1947, in Jonesboro to Fred Watson Jr. and Ruth Wood Watson. He graduated from Oak Grove High School near Paragould and soon joined the United States Navy, serving our country during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Russellville and worked several years for Vinson Electric in sales. Tommy was best known for having a good time and living life to the fullest. He enjoyed shopping and sports, but his first love and main concern was his family. He loved his family and always wanted to make sure they were taken care of. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Watson Jr. and a brother-in-law, Ken Herren. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Willie and Ashley Watson of Russellville; a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Dan Martin of Russellville; five grandchildren, James Watson and his wife, Hannah, Tristan and Tanner Watson, and Kai and Emma Ingmire, all of Russellville; a great-granddaughter, Blake Elizabeth Watson of Russellville; his mother, Ruth Watson of Paragould; his sister, Margot Herren of Paragould; two nieces, Carrie Reeves and Cindy Carter; and other relatives and friends. There will be a family conducted memorial service at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at New Life Church in Russellville with the Rev. Tracy Archibald officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
