Trafhene Ruth McGuire Obituary (1931

Trafhene Ruth Dortch McGuire entered the Gates of Heaven on Wednesday, March 21, 2012. She was born on May 7, 1931 in Morrilton, Arkansas to William Rambert (Jim) and Earlie Ruth (Hardin) Dortch. On November 3,1951, she married the love of her life, Glen E. McGuire in the Assembly of God parsonage in Russellville, Arkansas with Rev. Judge B. Lindsey, officiating. They recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. They moved to Wichita, Kansas in November in 1951 where on July 10, 1955 their first daughter, Yonda Jean was born. In 1955, they moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and welcomed their second daughter, Gerieta Kaye on July 2, 1957. She worked side by side with her husband as they evangelized and pastored Assemblies of God churches in Oklahoma and Arkansas. She served as Sunday School teacher, church secretary, W.M. Leader, Vacation Bible School director, and any other job that needed to be done. She took her role of Pastor's wife very seriously. She loved her church family. She always positioned herself at the back door to greet every person entering or leaving the church. She was preceded in death by her parents and her only sister, Ima Gene Dortch. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Glen E. McGuire; two daughters, Yonda Jean and Ralph Bailey, and Gerieta Kaye Banyai' both of Tulsa, OK; her two grandsons whom she adored, Rev. Dustin Heath Bailey and Andras' Elliot Banyai, also of Tulsa; and many extended family and friends. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Humphrey Chapel in Russellville, AR. Rev. Mike Norberg, Rev. Claude Jackson and Rev Ronnie Morris will officiate. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Russellville, AR by Humphrey Funeral Service.
